Almost two years ago, I stopped the development of WoWs Info. I was tired and needed a break from it because I had mixed feelings about it. I haven’t touched it ever since until last month when I got something important back thanks to a certain anime. How interesting life can be.

WoWs Info Seven will be the first update in 2 years, and it will be a full rewrite in Flutter with some minor changes here and there. React Native worked for me, but it is time to move on with Flutter. I always wanted to run my app on everything, and Flutter is capable of that.

The name, seven, is taken from the version number, 1.7. The update will unify the iOS and the Android version number. Now, iOS is 1.6.9, and Android is like 1.0.7.1? This is because Android was released later than iOS, but I probably should have done this earlier. I am still thinking about the name of 1.8 and 1.9.

As I said, there won’t be new features. The app will have everything the current one does. The UI will be updated slightly because it was a bit strange. I don’t want to overwhelm my users so it will be done slowly.

The major improvement of seven is that most data are now local. The app won’t update data when it launches except for personal ratings. Everything is included with the app so there won’t be loading issues anymore. WoWs-Game-Data is now unpacking, decoding, parsing and providing all data the app needs.

Overall, I am quite positive about this new version. It will take a while, but it will be a major milestone for WoWs Info. I really want to get it out quickly, but I shouldn’t rush it like before. This is why it was miserable. There should be a balance, and I was too desperate for it. The app will get better and so do I.
