Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is an iconic open world game. My first GTA game was GTA: Vice City on PSP. Actually, it is GTA: Vice City Stories. I never understood the story and all I did was doing everything except the story. I was a kid and GTA is not for kids but it is what it is. Sometimes, kids don’t understand so they simply don’t feel anything for me at least.

At some time, I went to visit my brothers and they had a desktop computer, those old and big ones with a very long back running Windows XP. They had GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas and also GTA IV. As a kid, I played all of them. I remember using cheats so that cars can float on water and spawn a tank with panzer. Fun times. Among all three of them, I spent most time playing San Andreas. I enjoyed everything about San Andreas, freedom, vast open world but never the story. I hated missions because I couldn’t clear them.

In GTA: Vice City, you have to clear missions to go to another island and I was thinking of a way to somehow go past that. I succeeded but there was nothing on other islands because you weren’t supported to be there. Later, I spent more time clearing missions and Vice Story was the game I had the most progress. I couldn’t remember if I played until the end or simply downloaded someone’s 100% save. I do remember I was playing it on my iPhone.

Fast forward to 2015, GTA V was released. It was also the time when I came to Sydney. My classmates were playing GTA V so I also wanted to play so I bought it on Steam with $500,000 DLC for online. I was running it on my Surface Pro 4 but unfortunately, it didn’t work that well. The graphics weren’t sufficient to play it even in the lowest settings. That’s why I spent $1,000 and purchased the Alienware Alpha R1 machine. I always liked machines like it, small, compact but yet powerful enough to do anything.

GTA V had great graphics and it is still good in 2021. You may not believe that it came out in 2013, 8 years ago. My Alienware Alpha had 1TB HDD and a customed GTX 860M. I think it is still better than Win 3’s XE graphics but not so sure. It had been a while since I last played any game like that. I was playing Minecraft and Puzzle & Dragons so Alpha opened up my gaming vision.

I could finally play with my friends online and we played together GTA V for a very long time. My 100 hour playing GTA V is mostly online. It was fun but eventually, we moved on and stopped playing GTA V. I think I started playing World of Warships and other games. It was fun days not until year 2 at UNSW. It was too much study and I had almost no time to play. Eventually, I got Nintendo Switch and PS4. Many more games were purchased on Steam because they were on sale and I never played them.

Last year, I graduated from UNSW and started looking for a job. I was free so I started playing more games and doing what I wanted to do. However, I never really finish any game. That’s why when I got my GPD Win 3, I decided to play more and clear more games. Playing games is still better than watching useless funny videos on YouTube or Bilibili. At least, I accomplish something.

When I heard The Setup, that’s when I finished the story of GTA V, the first ever GTA game I cleared. It took me almost 8 years to finally clear the amazing story. By clearing all story missions, it is not 100% yet and I am about 60%. I will still play GTA V because there are so many more to explore but I also want to play other games. I want to clear GTA IV, San Andreas and Vice City. This will take me time but I will one day.

I don’t want to say anything about the story because by now, everyone knows it. It is a good game and we need more games like this. I will play more and explore more games in the future so that I can also write more about games. I have played quite a few games and there is a method for me to tell whether it is a good game or garbage.

I wanted to become a game developer and it is my dream since whatever. Somehow, I got into mobile app development but one day if I can, I want to make a new or at least be part of a game.
